lyrics

Autumn leaves fall from the trees
Winter’s cold is creeping
Computer lights fill my eyes
I really should be sleeping

All around you’ll hear the sound
Winds of change are blowing
I’ll fix my gaze, and be amazed
When springtime starts its growing

And I’ll wait for tomorrow and see
The wonder it brings on a dark season’s wings
I’ll watch from the window, and thoughts will be swirling around in my head
We all share this beautiful world
The stars up above, how they fill me with love
So why do some people hate just cause others aren’t the same?

Things feel strange, almost mundane
Masks in 2020
"Fuck this year" is all I hear
We’ve all got reasons plenty

But all around you’ll hear the sound
Winds of change are blowing
Humankind, blows my mind
With different ways of knowing

And I’ll wait for tomorrow and see
The danger it brings on a cold season’s wings
But when we’re safe from the virus, not everyone gets to be safe in our culture of fear
When this is all over. And I hope
You’ll see we’re the same, and there’s no one to shame
Like flowers in springtime
Let’s grow a new world where we’re all safe to be

But here I am, guitar in hand
Not sure where I’m going
I’m scared a lot, and full of thoughts
But starlight keeps on glowing

So I’ll wait for tomorrow and see
The wonder it brings on a dark season’s wings
I’ll watch from the window
